Harry Bridges Span elementary school here in Wilmington wanted to do something for the homeless and approached the Principal to see if they could have a clothing and food drive for them. He immediately gave them the go-ahead and on April 6th, they brought their results to Doors of Hope and Beacon Light Mission…in a BIG way. It took five vans and pick-ups to bring everything here. Vehicle after vehicle backed and unloaded numerous boxes of food, hygiene products, clothing, toothpaste, tooth brushes, and so much more. You need to look at the pictures just to get some idea what these children’s effort to share their love and care for the homeless accomplished. This is the same school that has a penny drive for us each year and raises about $1500-$1700 for BLM/DOH. There are no words than can express our surprise and joy these children brought to us.
